Religion and Politics?

On Tuesday night, November 13, 2007 at LaFortune Student Center, two students and two professors debated on the issue of separation and church. To be exact, one student and one professor formed one team and the other student and professor formed another team so the total team would be two. One group argued that religion does not mix with politics while the other group said that religion can be useful in certain situations. The first group used the quote said by Former President John F. Kennedy: "Religion really has no place in politics." The other group said that the government should not impose laws to separate religion and politics and by taking religion out of politics, it is not humanly possible, in other words quoted by him as "an anti-human idea." The two groups argued back and forth about religion and politics. Either way, anyone look at it, it is one controversial issue and John F. Kennedy's quote take the front jab at why religion should be a separate thing from the political realm.
